When your partner speaks Ukrainian with family and friends, it can be difficult to follow the jokes, warmth and small details that translation apps miss. You don’t need perfect Ukrainian—you need the Ukrainian that matters in your life.
Follow what is happening at dinner, during visits and on family video calls—and respond without waiting for everything to be translated.
Understand affectionate expressions, common questions and the phrases your partner naturally uses at home.
Show interest in your partner’s language and culture while building your own relationship with their family and friends.
Your lessons can focus on the people, situations and conversations that are most relevant to you.
Learn greetings, questions and responses that sound natural—not phrases translated word for word from English.
Improve your listening so you can recognize familiar words, follow the topic and ask useful follow-up questions.
Pronounce names and expressions more clearly and feel more comfortable participating in conversations.
This is not a generic phrasebook course. Your tutor adapts the lesson to your level, your partner’s family and the situations you are likely to encounter.
Tell your tutor who you want to communicate with, what you already know and which situations are most important to you.
Work with useful vocabulary, pronunciation, listening and realistic conversations instead of memorizing disconnected word lists.
Leave each lesson with language you can try with your partner, in a message or during your next family conversation.
Both tutors are native Ukrainian speakers from Cherkasy. Choose based on how you prefer to learn - you can always change or combine approaches later.
